Development of source coding for communication systems

Source coding is a way of manipulating data in order to use it in later processing more efficiently. In the context of communication systems, it is important to know the characteristics of different source coding schemes to choose the best one for the desired application.

For this purpose, we'll analyse three source coding methods: non-uniform quantization, Huffman coding and arithmetic coding.
